  2.  VASCII Codes
  3.  \ASCII codes are the actual letters or codes that can be
  4. seen on the screen. Most of these letters can be entered
  5. directly from you keyboard.  Some codes (like the ESC
  6.      key) are entered using their decimal equivalent.
  7.  LFor example, to enter an ESC, hold down the ALT key and
  8. enter its decimal value of 027 then release the Alt key.
  9. You will see a '
  10. ', its screen character.
  11.  SMost printers use an ESC to start a printer code.  For
  12. example:
  13.  wHP LASER

  16.  KYou can toggle between the ASCII and DECIMAL value using
  17. the F10 key.

  21. The codes are unique for each printer and will control
  22. the different features it offers.  They are normally
  23. listed in the user manual for each printer.
  24. Note that
  25. not all printers support all features.  If you find a
  26.      code that isn't listed, look for a synonym.
  27.  QFor example,  some printers refer to EMPHASIZED while
  28.      others call it BOLD.  Both mean the same.
  29.  SIf you can not find a printer code for a feature,
  30. leaving it blank will usually work just fine.

  34.  UDecimal Codes
  35.  [Decimal codes are the decimal equivalent to the ASCII
  36.      codes.  Any code (including the NULL character) can be
  37. entered using its decimal code.  Each code is a number
  38. between 0 and 255.  Leading zeros don't need to be
  39. entered.  Each code must be seperated from the next with
  40. a space.

  44. ASCII values: 
  45.  [You can toggle between DECIMAL and ASCII modes by
  46. using the F10 key.

  49. Enter any valid file name.  The report
  50. will be saved with that name.

  52. If the file already exists, it will be
  53. replaced.
  54. HOW MANY COPIES?
  55.  >Enter the number of copies to be printed

  58. for this report.
  59. Printer:  Select the printer and port to be used for this
  60. report.  The choices are listed to the right.  Use
  61. the arrow keys to choose one.  If you are unsure,
  62. use LPT1.

  64. port assignment.

  115. : Sets your printer pitch to 17 cpi.  Also called COMPRESSED.
  116. Double Width: Prints characters at a double-width.
  117. Super-script: Prints characters as a super-script.
  118. Sub-script  : Prints characters as a sub-script.
  119.   Enhanced
  120. : Also called DOUBLE STRKE.  Characters are darker than normal.
  121. Emphasized  : Also called BOLD.  Characters are darkest.
  122. Italics
  123. : Code to print in Italics style.
  124.  #Underline
  125. : Code to underline characters.
  126.  %Utility
  127. : Draft mode.
  128.  7NLQ
  129.      : Prints your report in Letter or Near Letter Quality.
  130. High Speed  : High Speed draft quality print.
  131.  #Char. set
  132. : Used to switch the character set to a differt one.  Used
  133. mostly for foriegn language and scientific sets.
  134. User Defined: Custom defined control strings for defined types of printing.
  135.      PRINTER ERROR
  136. The printer is not responding to the computer.
  137.  "Possible reasons include:
  138. 1.  Printer turned off
  139.  :2.  Printer unplugged
  140.  ;3.  Out of paper
  141.  @4.  "On-line" light is not light.
  142.  /5.  Cable is loose between the printer and
  143.  *the computer.
  144. Check the above.  Turn the printer off then
  145.  %back on and retry.
  146.  aOptions  Document may be sent to a printer, the
  147.  *screen, or a disk file.  After being viewed
  148.  %on the screen, it may also then be printed.

  167.  ^The F10 key will toggle you between two different modes
  168. of entering the printer codes:  ASCII or DECIMAL.
  169.  KChoose the one closest to the way your printer manual is
  170. used.

  179. all you need to do is hold the Alt key down while
